More about me

Hello :)

I am Francesca, a first-year PhD student in the InClow group in Groningen. My research sits at the intersection of language acquisition and language modeling: I am interested in how infants learn and process language, and in how child-directed input can be leveraged to train cognitively more plausible models. More broadly, I aim to contribute to the development of polyglot and inclusive language technologies that reflect the richness of real-world linguistic heterogeneity.

I feel grateful to be part of such a wonderful, ever-growing research environment, surrounded by colleagues whose curiosity and generosity make every day stimulating and rewarding!

Outside of research, I enjoy exploring the city and the surroundings by bike, reading novels and transfeminist essays, and making small crochet projects for friends and myself. I also love capturing everyday life on film with my Pentax K1000 :))
